TIME: Unwinding the Spiral

Exhibited at OCAD University’s GradEx 111.

Full OCADU GradEx 111 setup.

Snapshots from the opening night of GradEx 111.

Original setup for GradEx 111.

I first imagined a white room where blue (cyclical time) and pink (between cycles) carried the narrative. Given GradEx foot traffic, I added graphic excerpts from visual research on the walls to catch attention immediately.

Intended experience of the live visualisation.

The visualisation shows a viewer afterimage shifting between now and a user-set maximum delay. Delay and modulation speed are tuned with the controller knobs, inviting agency over time while asking how much control we really have.

Setup for the Spiral Treatise, visual research, instructions on how to read the research, and the spiral hourglass.

Business cards designed for the exhibition.

Gallery table with geometric spiral prints, an iMac, and a blue glass spiral sculpture.
